On February 26th WTS Sacramento Transportation YOU committee members participated in 4th Annual Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) for middle school students, an event hosted by ASCE Sacramento YMF and Sacramento State College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED) is a nationally recognized event that was founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers (N.S.P.E) in 1951 and is a day dedicated to inspiring young girls to become the next generation of engineers. At IGED, our WTS team facilitated the Windy Towers activity, which taught participants about structural engineering, lateral forces, and wind resistance! The activity was a hit with the students.

Thank you, ASCE Sacramento YMF and Sacramento State College of Engineering and Computer Science for another amazing IGED event, and to our volunteers Hailey Wagenman, Lizette Zavala, Jameela Flordeliz, Cindy Jimenez, and Anna Johnson for volunteering.
