The WTS Student Chapter at UC Davis is dedicated to creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable transportation industry through the advancement of women. The chapter's primary goal is to help close the gender workforce gap in the transportation industry by promoting careers for women, starting with students. Through professional development and mentoring, we seek to expand opportunities for women in the transportation industry.

 

WTS @ UC Davis is a student chapter of WTS Sacramento and is only the 4th to be founded in California. The student chapter was founded in February 2017 to connect students interested in exploring or pursuing a career in transportation with the resources and guidance necessary to excel in the industry.

 

With support from the WTS Sacramento Chapter and the UC Davis Institute for Transportation Studies, students participate in a breadth of events ranging from educational tours and presentations, resume building and networking events, advice panels on graduate school and career development, as well as social meet-ups. Students are also eligible to receive free membership to WTS International and gain enhanced access to mentorship programs, scholarships, and internship/career opportunities.
