Summer is here! Time for vacations, barbecues and hitting the beach. Our Chapter has had many enjoyable events in the first half of the year including our Annual Awards Dinner, many interesting Monthly Lunch Programs, a Spring Professional Development event on Stress and Being a Healthy Leader, a Sacramento Bike Tour (our Chapter’s 2018 Innovative Transportation Solutions Award winner), and a reception honoring Jim Earp’s retirement from the CTC (see recap below). A few WTS Sacramento board members also attended the WTS International Annual Conference in Boston, MA and the Transportation You DC Summit (see below for recaps of these events).
We still aren’t done with the excitement! Currently scheduled, on July 25th we have a lunch program panel discussing housing and transportation, and our most-anticipated event, the Fashion Show Fundraiser, will be held on September 18th! Event sponsor requests are open and we will soon be opening up registration for this fundraiser where we raise money for our Scholarships. Our Mentorship program is still going strong with our seven pairs of mentors and mentees meeting regularly. And the UC Davis Student Chapter continues to shine and is transitioning into the next school year – see below for an update!
