On the evening of Tuesday, June 15th, WTS Sacramento hosted a reception in honor of the career and retirement of Jim Earp. Mr. Earp held several significant roles during his career including serving as the Political and Public Affairs Director for the International Union of Operating Engineers, two appointments to the California Transportation Commission, and lastly as the Executive Director of the California Alliance for Jobs.
WTS Sacramento Chapter President Lauren Reinking welcomed the attendees and provided opening remarks touching on WTS’ relationship with the California Alliance for Jobs, and the longstanding impact of Mr. Earp’s tenure, specifically his role in helping to pass more than $15 billion in transportation sales tax and bridge toll funding for Northern California counties. Lauren was followed by Mr. Earp’s friends and colleagues, Chair Fran Inman and Commissioner Bob Alvarado who shared anecdotes from their time with Mr. Earp and expressed gratitude for the impact he had on both of their careers.
Mr. Earp ended the evening with a gracious speech to his friends, colleagues, and especially his wife Susan, for providing him support throughout his incredibly successful career.
On behalf of WTS Sacramento, congratulations on a successful career Mr. Earp!
