Fifth Annual Cruising The Catwalk Fashion Show Fundraiser

2017 Cruising the Catwalk - Models and MC's

The Sacramento State Alumni Center was bursting with energy and cheers as over 230 people in the Transportation industry gathered to support our 19 models who "sashayed" down the catwalk on August 31st! (Yes, it was a real catwalk!) WTS Sacramento's 5th Annual Fashion Show Fundraiser was another huge success to raise money to support our scholarships for young women pursuing degrees in transportation related fields. In fact, this year we are increasing our scholarship amount and will be awarding $15,000 in scholarship checks at our Annual Dinner on January 31st!

During the evening, over 35 silent auction items were bid upon for over $4,000 raised towards our scholarships, including Stella and Dot jewelry and accessories, Giants tickets, wine baskets, a handmade cutting board and a handmade cornhole set, ski lift passes, a hiking gear basket, a Fitbit, and many more fun items! Also prior to the main event was a raffle to win some $50 gift cards, Kings shirts, wine, and even a one-night stay at the Atlantis Resort and Casino! A huge thanks to everyone who participated!

This year we had more amazing models walk the catwalk including the Honorable Jim Beall, 15th District Senator; Howard Zabell, a Principal Engineer at Drake Haglan & Associates; Heather Yee with the County of Sacramento and a past WTS Sacramento Chapter President; Sparky Harris, a Senior Planner at the City of Sacramento (who allowed WTS auctioned off a "date" with); and a three-generation of women engineersdelight with Sandra Hall (retired Caltrans), her daughter Carolyn Davis (Quincy Engineering) and her daughter Kira Davis (Mark Thomas and a WTS Sacramento Board Member)!

THANK YOU to all our models, clothiers and our sponsors - this event would not have been possible without you! We would also like to give a shout-out to the wonderful people who attended, your generosity helped us to raise over $2,000 in just the bills thrown at our models!
