Recap - January 2021 Lunch Program

On January 13th, WTS Sacramento held our first lunch program of the year which was all about WTS! Chapter President Emily Abrahams, Senior Transportation Planner at Caltrans, and Chapter Vice President Kira Caselli, Senior Project Engineer for Mark Thomas led the session.

The presentation started with an overview of WTS, including the mission, vision, and core values.

Mission: WTS attracts, sustains, connects and advances women’s careers to strengthen the transportation industry.

Vision: Equity and access for women in transportation.

Core Values: We are collaborative. We are future focused. We are professional. We are inclusive.

Then we got into the relationships and roles of WTS International, WTS Foundation, and the WTS Chapters.

The final piece of the presentation described all the programs and activities that the WTS Sacramento Chapter offers right here in our region. We discussed our monthly lunch programs, professional development series, the diversity equity and inclusion program, the mentorship program, award recognitions, scholarship program, the fashion show fundraiser, the TransportationYOU program, celebratory receptions, and the WTS Student Chapter at UC Davis. If you want to know more about each of these programs, check out the WTS Sacramento Chapter website or view the recording of the presentation here.
