In this eNews edition, we are getting to better know Kathleen Hanley with PCTPA!
Kathleen grew up in Roseville (and is a proud native!). She went east to go to college and has lived in Boston and Philadelphia. Kathleen has her Bachelor's in Architecture from Harvard and a Master's in Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
Kathleen has always been interested in the built environment and got interested in transportation "because of all the exciting technological and policy developments in our field." She currently works as an Assistant Planner at Placer County Transportation Planning Agency (PCTPA). Her favorite work experience so far has been the opening of Phase 1 of the I-80/Hwy 65 Interchange. "It has been really exciting for the whole office and we've gotten a ton of great feedback from our residents."
While in Philadelphia, Kathleen was involved in the WTS chapter there, and pretty soon after moving back to Sacramento region joined our chapter. She currently helps serve on the Programs Committee and helps plan speakers for our chapter's lunch programs. What she enjoys most about being part of WTS is the group of women who are in WTS. "It's really just an excuse to hang out with such fun and brilliant ladies. The good speakers, food, and professional development events are just bonuses."
In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys hiking and camping and exploring the foothills with her German Shepherd, Maggie. Inside the home, she has been "slowly but surely" teaching herself how to cook and is currently working on mastering her homemade pizza!
Thank you Kathleen for your spirit and energy and helping WTS Sacramento!
