On May 19th, the D&I Committee hosted members of the WTS Sacramento board for a two-hour training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The training, led by Tammy Jordan of Leader Consulting Group, included an overview of key components of an equitable organization and breakout discussions on relevant topics.
In small groups, we discussed which bias types may be showing up within our organization and how that can affect our membership. Later, we discussed allyship and what each of us can do to become more self-aware and bring D&I practices into our leadership roles. The WTS Sacramento Board will reconvene soon to follow-up on what we learned and brainstorm ways to implement further improvements to integrate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion into our functions.
