August Lunch Program

Join us for a lunch presentation by Nathan Forrest from the California Nevada Cement Association.

Portland cement manufacturers are reducing the carbon footprint of cement by introducing blended cements like Portland Limestone Cement, and others, to respond to growing calls for reducing embodied carbon associated with construction. Blended cements combine traditional Portland cement with additional materials, which results in products that perform the same (or better) in concrete, but with a reduction in carbon footprint of 10% to 50%.

This program will explain the industry’s pressing need for this change, the research that has been done in this area, the performance characteristics of these materials, the adoption at the state level in California as well as nationally, and what concrete producers, contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and specifiers need to know to be ready.
